Plastic extrusion process
Plastics extrusion is a manufacturing process in which raw plastic material is melted and formed into a continuous profile.
Process:- Raw thermoplastic material in the form of small beads is gravity fed from a top mounted hopper into the barrel of the extruder. Depending upon requirements, additives such as colorants and UV inhibitors are often used and can be mixed into the resin prior to arriving at the hopper.
- The material enters through the feed throat and comes into contact with the screw. The rotating screw forces the plastic beads forward into the barrel which is heated to the desired melt temperature of the molten plastic
- The molten plastic is then forced through the die to produce the extrusion profile
- The profile is then cooled (normally in water) and cut to the desired length.
Jinlogic has supplied a wide variety of extrusions and also co-extrusions where two different materials are forced through the same die. You will see our products in all walks of life and know that they are reliable. Contact us to see how we can help.
